Why are my voicemail messages difficult to understand?

As part of our voicemail transcription service, we receive and process 150+ RingCentral voicemail messages/day via email. Recently, a noticeable number of the messages have bits of additional audio inserted throughout the recording. It is usually only an unintelligible syllable or two, but it makes the message difficult to understand.
