Fax via email: HTML CSS problem - font too small

I am working on a website that generates a HTML code and sends it as an attachment to a fax machine to print. Everything works but for some reason, the font size ended up being too small while in the html code, it looked perfectly fine. What is the problem here? Is there a rule regarding the use of HTML CSS for fax printing? Thank you :)

Can you further explain the process and systems you are using?  What are the specific systems, type of machines and process you are taking?  It sounds like whatever system you are using, it's not recognizing the CSS code, or perhaps there is CSS code that is overriding other code. We don't really have enough info or details to troubleshoot this.
