Error message on desktop app: No application is associated with the specified file for this operation

I installed Ring Central for faxes today, installed the desktop app. When I click on the "eye" to view my incoming fax, I get the following message: No application is associated with the specified file for this operation. How can I view my incoming faxes on the desktop app?

That messaging generally means that you do not have a default PDF viewer installed on your computer.  The most common/free pdf reader is Adobe, which you can download here:  https://get.adobe.com/reader/

Let us know if you still have problems.

Mike, thank you for the response. I open and view adobe files all the time. I can download/save and then open the adobe file/fax but cannot view it with the "eye" on the desktop app. Could this still be the problem?

I tried to install from your link and my computer says I already have a newer version installed....

Sandra, What version of the RingCentral Desktp/Softphone are you using? If you are not on 7.5 +  you'll first want to update.  

Next make sure that Adobe Reader is the default viewer:  https://answers.acrobatusers.com/how-to-make-adobe-acrobat-my-Default-pdf-reader-q22860.aspx

RingCentral for Windows, Release: 7.5.2.18767 (32-bit). I just downloaded and installed it on Friday.

I also checked and Adobe Reader is the default program to open my PDF files.
