External Receptionist if all extensions are busy

Prior to signing up for RingCentral we used an external call company to answer all our calls and forward to relevant person.
We have set our RingCentral so that the each extension is tried until someone answers.
However if everybody is busy (we only have 4 lines) then we would like the call to be re-directed to our external call company to take a message. We want them to talk to a human not leave a message on the answer phone. Is this possible?

Are you using a call queue to ring the 4 phones now?  If so, then you are correct there is no way to forward anywhere except voicemail at this time.

However, you can get creative and try this another way by directing your main number to an extension or virtual extension that in turn forwards calls to each of your users and then to your answering service.

Another option would be to create a new extension and forward it directly to the answering service.  Then leave things the way they are and record a short greeting for your call queue voicemail that says something  like, "sorry we are unavailable, please press 1 to be transferred to someone now." 1 would be the extension forwarded to your service.
