Phone rings and then hangs up as soon as I answer

We use the auto-receptionist, but "0" forwards to me. I'm using the RingCentral for Desktop app (or the softphone - is there a difference?) and I have no forwarding turned on. I generally have plenty of time to answer the phone, but quite often I pick up, have enough to time to hear it's connected, but then it hangs up. Do you think all of these callers are hanging up on me? Or is something going on with RC? Not sure if these are people that are selecting "0" or calling me on purpose. Is there a way to tell?

Have you looked in the Call Log?  Sometimes that will give you an idea of what happened to the call.

No I haven't. Since I have to log in to see the call log, I usually don't. I'll pay better attention and see if I can figure it out.

I had this happen when I was Super Admin and had to make a new extension for myself.  had to do with calls coming in to unassigned numbers.

Do you see caller ID that you can call back?  It could be "robo dialers"  Many have pretty advanced detection analytics and can detect that they got to an auto attendant and then disconnect and perhaps the timing is just poor and they hang up right about the time your AA ends and transfers to you?

Still observing. Is there a way from the Admin Portal Call Log to see what extension the call was on?

Yes. Go to Call Logs > Open Advanced Features > select Inbound Only > enter the specific number > select SHOW > once the report is generated select DETAILED

I have the same issue that I reported to Tech Support and not heard back for a while now. I want to turn off the option to press 0 or redirect it to my que, but keep Operator Extension to an user as we use our main number for texting.

What was the answer? I am having the same problem - my phone will ring from RC and as soon as I answer it hangs up...

This happened to my galaxy s8. Go to settings and accessibility then disable one tap setting. This worked for me .
