If I schedule a conference call and then do not attend as host, can the others still meet?
I sometimes need to set up 3 or more external (non-RingCentral) parties into a telephone or video conference. I send out the invite, but sometimes I cannot attend or do not really need to attend. Can the others still meet with the information I have supplied them even if I - as Host - do not show up?
With regard to RingCentral conference calls, the answer is Yes. They can communicate between each other without you logged in. I just tested this with two separate phones and could hear and speak to "myself" in the conference call with no issues. The main difference with a participants code is that they cannot use the Touch Tone commands to perform specific tasks that hosts can perform (i.e., Caller Count, Security, etc.). See more on Touch Tome commands here:
I also tried it with a video meeting and it worked as well however I believe I have all my devices set up to log in with my RingCentral account information. I don't have any set up as a client might. But I believe the same holds true as with the conference call.
When Using Ring Central Meetings you will have to make sure that you have marked the ability called "Enable join before host" when you are scheduling the meeting.
With conferencing calling you have to ensure that you sign into your extension, select the conference call option from the top right corner of the screen and ensure that you select the "Enable Join before host" option.
