Do the faxes have to be received via fax to the new number, or can the be received by email? If email works, then all you need to do is set up your RingCentral notifications to receive the fax notification with attachment, and then set a rule in your email client to forward the email.
I just got finished chatting with a tech. Capability does not exist (his words). I need to have our faxes go to our EMR company so they can distribute them to the appropriate patient's chart. Since it is impossible for Ring Central to accomplish this, as I told the tech, it's time to Fire RingCentral and find another provider that will work with it's customers (the people who pay their bills and employees). I'm not sure why I would have to BUY another line to make this happen. So in the meantime, I will continue to look at each fax, download them, put them into the patient's charts MANUALLY! and go from there.
I am disgusted with the service that RingCentral provides. I don't understand how they can keep customers.
Here's where it gets confusing and a needless kick in the dick. Changing the email address for your phone number you're going to fax doesn't change the email where the fax is being sent to. You have to:
Log in as super user
select phone number in question
Click on Messages & Notifications
Click on Settings
and THATS where you change where your emails are sent to.
You'd think it'd be in the outbound section, but no.
My honest advice is to just get a machine that can forward automatically. If you're paying $30 a month for a ringcentral phone number to receive faxes, just cut out the middle man and get a fax machine that does what you want. You'll save money in the long run.
