This will depend on who is calling you and if they are behind a PBX or not.  In general though 1(NPA)NXX-XXXX to call the US from anywhere in the world. Google says Japan's prefix for dialing abroad is 010 so whomever is trying to call you may need to put that in front.

I'm confused.  I thought you were trying to figure how someone from Japan would call you.

It sounds like you are in Japan, but are using a US RingCentral account.  is that right?  If so, just dial as if you were in the US as RingCentral doesn't really care where you are physically.

I that doesn't help can you describe more clearly where you are calling from and to and with what devices you are calling from and to?

Have you tried dialing normally?  I don't see any reason you would need to dial differently since you are still using the same RingCentral account you normally do, right?

From Japan to Abroad
  1. Dial the international dialing access code (010).
  2. Dial the country code of the country you are calling.
  3. If the number starts with a 0, drop the 0 and dial everything else

my RC setting puts a "1" in front.  i tried keypunching in the following number of my office 010-778-654-7781
then RC shows 1010778-654-7781
i want to show as you said  010-778-654-7781
is there some in the settings to turn off that extra "1"?
