To build off of Danno's answer:
Stopped: Phone rang but the call was not answered (multiple phones or queue). Phone was notified (ringing) but was not answered at the device level.
Missed: Call was not answered by a person or voice mail. Can be seen in conjunction with 'Hang up'
If you were to look at the call log, you can have "stopped" calls that made it to voicemail or were answered. Missed calls would be unanswered by a person, voicemail, or it is likely the inbound caller hung up.
