Large company with over 50 offices in 19 states. I would like to setup a company-level IVR menu on our company number that allows a caller to first select a state. For instance, I envision my prompt to say "Dial the 2 digit postal code for the state you to which you wish to connect". The caller then could enter 25 (AL) for Alabama or 22 (CA) for California. However, I cannot figure out to have custom key presses on my IVR menu. I can only select 0 through 9. Is there a way I can complete this? Thank you.
I see. That makes sense. I don't necessarily need to setup an IVR tree. Just use the functionality built into the main line number to dial an extension and alter my prompt. Thank you. That should work great for me.
You would set up extensions with those numbers (i.e., ext 22, ext 25, etc.). Then have the IVR go to that particular extension. Then have the extension forward to the appropriate office(s). But you may have issues with some states like Alabama (AL) and Alaska (AK) which would both use 25 as their extension number. Of course that would depend on which 19 states you are located in. You would have to make sure there were no other conflicts as well.
