I'm trying to build a "Ring Group" that will ring every phone in our facility at the same time (40 phones)

Nebula Support,

Your question is actually a statement. Do you have a question on how to do it? What have you tried thus far? Are you getting any error messages?

As far as I am aware, you can only have a TOTAL number of 10 forwarding numbers in a Ring Group. Have you looked into Call Queues? I haven't used Call Queues in quite a while but I don't believe there is that limitation.

You should be able to create an extension, then in the Call Handling and Forwarding section forward to Other Phones and change the order to simultaneously or create a ring group with all the extensions. Under Phone System,  Auto-receptionist, IVR settings create a custom answering rule that sends incoming calls to the extension you created. All the extensions will ring at the same time.

Sorry, there is a limitation of 30 extensions per Ring Group, so you may have to make 2 groups of 20 and have them ring simultaneously. All you can do is try. If it doesn't work just delete the extension.

Strange, I can setup 2 groups of 20 and set the groups to ring simultaneously. I cannot how ever verify that they will all ring without having 40 people upset with me. But I can set it up that way.

Call Handling Ring Groups can only have 10 numbers to forward to. The original poster wants to forward to 40! Ring Groups will not work in that situation.

They must have increased it. 2 groups of 20 should work. Like I said it doesn't hurt to test.

I cant get to add more than 10. Either way 30 is not 40 and you cant forward to two ring groups at the same time.

You can call support to request this be increased to 40.  I have done it.  They should tell you some caveats about why the limit is in place and let you know it will not be fully supported.

I think what Lee is saying is correct too that you can simultaneously ring multiple ring groups.

I believed Lee. It was just strange that I could only create 10. But I have no need to create more so I just wasn't aware of the ability to request the additional be added by support. None of my clients had the need for it either. But now I know.

Brandon they are cool like that!  I was going to suggest the same thing, but have never had this need.

you can loop a couple of ring groups or get Overflow activated to your groups, question is why would you want 40 phones to ring, why not have an external bell ringer .ringers and pick up the call from anywhere.

2287 USA based users, 28 different sites,  3800 DID lines - all Polycom VVX500 phones

2018-11-19 We have a need to use this programming setup or something similar to it, for Emergency Notification to our front offices at 28 different sites in the event of a site-wide emergency.

Our requirement:

When a specific pre-designated extension is dialed - it will ring the 10 phones in the front office simultaneously with a  distinctly alternative ring tone - to alert the front office staff there is an emergency situation (active shooter, weapon or bomb threat or whatever)
