Shared Line functionality

Could someone walk me through the inner details of Shared Lines?

We have a 3 phone system (paying for 3 lines). We want to use these in a Shared Line setup (i.e. keep each line open on all phones as calls come in).

My question - if more than 3 people call in, what happens? Busy signal? Voicemail?

USA-based acct | 2287 Users | 3800 DID lines | 28 sites | all Polycom VVX500 phone handsets

You may want to look at setting up a Call Queue instead of shared lines since you are already paying for the 3 lines, if you choose to expand past 3 lines, this would make it easier to not have to start over from scratch with setup for how this is accomplished. Not sure what level of account you are paying for - if queues are included or not.

Thank you, Cecile!  Could you explain Call Queuing?

My only interest is having LINE 1 light up on all phones at the same time and stay lit up on all phones during the call (making transferring easy).

Thank you so much for your replies, Cecile.  It looks like Call Queues are the way to go.

I am having a super difficult time getting answers from RingCentral support (either via chat or via phone).  I know this is a long shot, but would you be up for answering some questions for this either via phone or email?  I am happy to pay for someone to help me set this up.

We are a super busy retail environment and cannot spare an hour of downtime if something goes wrong.
