Softphone says.. Invalid credentials.

I have downloaded a RingCentral soft phone app for window and installed as per instructions by RingCentral, but now I am trying to login softphone via sandbox / developers account but it says in valid credentials. but I am using the same credentials to login in developers account.


Any help will be appreciated!!

Hi Jocab, the soft phone needs to be configured to point to the sandbox, by default it's configured for production:

Those are good resources.

Since those posts, we have enhanced the softphone so you can also change the environment between production and sandbox through the UI as described in the Getting Started Guide's "Your Softphone" section:


From the softphone signin screen use the following key combination to bring up the environment toggle:

  • Windows: Cntrl+F2
  • Mac: Fn+Command+F2

Developer sandbox tools

Using the RingCentral Phone for Desktop, you can dial or receive test calls, send and receive test SMS or Fax messages in your sandbox environment.

Download RingCentral Phone for Desktop:

Tip: switch to the "sandbox mode" before logging in the app:

  • On MacOS: press "fn + command + f2" keys
  • On Windows: press "Ctrl + F2" keys
