When creating a user Identity for sms community, does it validate the phone number?

Hi,

I've a question regarding creating an identity using the dimelo client. We are using the client to make an api call to create a user identity before sending an sms message. we set the community id(sms community) and phone number as an identifier for creating user identity. Want to know if there is a validation while creating the identity or a validation when sending the sms message?
