I have a team of 5 outside sales reps.  when they sell or need to disposition an appointment I want them to be able to notify the respective teams.  Example...all sales go to the install team and all other dispositions go to the dispatch team.  I first set this up by including all the sales reps into each of those teams.  this did not work out because the sales reps can see each others sales/no sale information.   So I removed each sales rep from the teams and tried having them @mention the respective teams but that doesn't seem to work.  Is there a way for a person that is not a member of a team to send a message to that team?

Hi Ernie.
I just did a test on this and there is a way to message a team or group in Glip without being a member. It turns out that the Post via Email function to do this.

When you select a group's options in the sidebar, there is a an option for "Post via Email". When you highlight this section you will see an email address that you can send messages to and it will post them in the group or team, but the member will not be added.

There's a bit more information on the Glip Composing Messages page.

Turns out I was wrong Ernie, I got an email much later stating that a member was denied permission to post in the team I made because they were not a member.

I have converted this post to an idea so we can collect votes from other users who would want a feature like this.

To help our Product Team understand your request and assure it gets more consideration, please include the following details in your request:

  • Number of Digital Lines on the account:
  • Account type (U.S., Canada, UK, AT&T, Telus, British Telecom):
  • A brief description of the business you perform:
  • A high level description of the product or feature being requested:
  • A typical use case scenario explaining how your business would use the feature:
  • Benefit of such feature:
  • Include any related support case number if applicable:

Hi Luke,
Thanks for following up on this.  Another part that I forgot to mention is that my sales reps are all field reps.  So, to have the ability to do this from their glip mobile app is what would work the best.
