I like Ring Central...but the call quality is super bad. Very frequently it is so bad that people cannot understand what I am saying as it cuts in and out and sounds "robotic". We've checked and it is definitely not our internet connection and it happens in all of our multiple offices with multiple users and their phones. This is a critical issue and should be fixed yesterday. This problem could force us to leave Ring Central for a different provider.

I know we had similar issues in the past, and it had to do with our router configuration, specifically port forwarding/triggering. Also, there is a setting on the website for call quality, but our issue was the router. If the numbers 8000-8200, 16384-16492, and 5060-5090 sound familiar, then I'm out of ideas! Hope this helps.

Hi Robert, this has to do with local network issues.

E-Mail me directly so that I could setup some time to work with you.

I know for a fact this is a solvable issue.

Thanks

Our Phone Quality is horrible...and we are a real estate office! People are calling in and the voice is broken up - so we can't even hear what is being said. Can't even pick up calls from other's in the office whom have stepped away (we are a real estate office - if we are in the office we are not making money).

We pay a lot of money for this service....or lack of it! Need good help - can't find it!

Hi Joy, I help customers with these issues all the time. More than likely it is a local network problem and not specifically something with RC.

If you have some time to chat E-Mail me directly so I could go over how your system is configured and suggest changes that have worked for others

My E-Mail is ckuscone@yahoo.com and Cell is 630 975 1200

Thank you

Hi all - call quality issues are almost always attributable to issues on the user's network. Fast internet is a requisite, but there is often some more tinkering needed with QoS, port settings and so on. We have a QoS technical team that can assist with these sorts of issues - if you are experiencing call quality problems, create a new case at http://success.ringcentral.com/RCContactSupp and tick the highest severity level (2 - Urgent). You will be connected to a QoS specialist.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Cannot get clear calls (QoS).

Hello,

I have been running a small office now for about two years and to this day I continue my battle with getting clear VoIP calls. I have literally tried close to 10 different routers to date and RingCentral is now my 4th Company and I am unable to get clear phone calls.

The biggest problem is that they become choppy when someone on the network is watching a youtube video or downloading a large file. I cannot get QoS to kick in to create a quality phone call.

I just took out an EA4500 today where I followed the instructions exactly as RC has it plus enabled all of the port triggering. The problem is our bandwidth spikes (we have a 10/10 symmetrical line) when large files are downloaded. When I load a large youtube video (say 50 minutes long), the light gray bar will go across the screen indicating the video is loading and buffering. All during this time, I will experience poor audio quality. I constantly ping google.com and you will see the ping times jump above 100+ ms sometimes 300+ms briefly until the file or video is loaded. All during this time, call quality goes to crap.

Currently I am on an Adtran 3120 which is supposed to be enterprise and designed for VoIP use. Can anyone help me please?
