This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Custom Ringtone from Auto Attendant.

I have a ringtone specific to incoming calls so that my calls, when away from my desk, are not confused with others in the office. I have noticed that if my line is called directly (automatically forwarded to my cell phone) my chosen phone ringtone comes through. However if my name/number is selected through the Auto Attendant, a different ringtone is used. I would like for all ringtones to remain the same.

Good to know. All these companies seem to be a little sketchy. I just talked to the overseas call support at RC and realized that the posted web prices were lacking the true amounts.

If you think this is sketchy, they've been having complaints about the E911 list management for the last year and have adamantly stated multiple times they have no plans to improve the system. To me that's just blatantly leaving problems on the table.

I was an 8x8 customer and can tell you RingCentral has been awesome since we moved and it really was a better option and more solid solution for my company.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Deskphone: assign different ringtones for Call Queue and user extensions?.

Is there a way to change the ring tone to differ between an incoming call going to the Call Queue and an incoming call going directly to an extension.

Thanks,

This is exactly what we are looking for.  We need a different ring for calls routed to individuals from our call queue vs calls dialed directly to an extension/DID.

I'd like to see this as well.  I would like to be able to setup the tones depending on external and internal calls.

I'm interested in seeing different ring tone depending on the user whose presence you are monitoring. On the VVX units, it seems that ringtones for all monitored lines are controlled as one.

No worries, 8x8 is another great VOIP service that lists on the call screen it is coming from your business number! We can easily switch to their service!

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Desktop App: add more ringtones.

We would like to have more options for ringtones in the desktop app. Currently there are only "bell" and "classic" as ringtone options.

We have no physical phones; our users only have the desktop app. Additionally, we're in an open-office environment so it's difficult to distinguish who's phone is ringing.

Really feeling bad about your "analysts and marketing Team". This statement depicts that you people are TOTALLY unaware of your target market and current user profiles.
TKO- Did you download the custom ringtone for your desktop phone? If so, how did you get it on to the phone? Thanks!

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Different ringtones for Intercom.

Would like the phones to have a more like a lan line tone for Intercom instead of ringing. Some users don't answer phone but take pages from office staff and they can't tell difference

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Add different RingTones for Incoming call vs. transferred call.

There needs to be a feature to distinguish between an incoming call and a call being transferred. My co-workers do not know if a new phone call is coming in or if I am transferring a call to them

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Hard Phone: different ringtones for different lines.

We have the main receptionist with a Polycom IP650 and the admins with the VVX 500's. The idea is that the 2 admins will hear when the main line is ringing, however, they would like it to be a different ringtone from their direct line. So there would be a ringtone for the main number and a ringtone for their direct number.

Is there a way to change the ringtone that I hear in my bluetooth Blue Ant Q2 headset when receiving a call through the mobile app on my iPhone. The ringtone is Marimba and is not selected as a ringtone for any setting on my iPhone. I tried other bluetooth headsets with the same result.

We have 15 Polycom phones & all ring the main line.  We would like different ring tones to differentiate between main line calls, direct line calls & inter office calls.

being able to have more choice or control over tones for certain calls would be cool, (inter-office, direct number dialed, main number or group ringing options) as far as what to hear a wider selection of sounds or songs would be nice. ive had a few customers ask me if they can upload  their own tones or songs even, recently.

1000% AGREE!!!!  I would like to know if it is a personal call direct to me, or one comin through ring central - therefore, I would like to have a different ringtone for incoming ring central calls  rather than have it use my standard (personal)  ringtone!

Hi Amanda, cant you just set the ring tone on your cell to look for the Ring central originating number?  This way when the call comes from Ring central the ring tone will adjust accordingly based on the incoming number?

I have not tried this but it should work that way.

Thanks

I agree with Amanda, the option to personalize the ringtone based in the saved contact number is not helpful since we have thousands of costumers calling....

In December 2016, we have requested the RingCentral Engineering team create a ring tone option for desktop phones (We have Polycom VVX500) ringtone differentiated from regular ringtone for internal Emergency Calls for a Code Red type situation - (Active shooter other site-wide emergency) to notify the recipient it is an emergency call for help or to alert the office of an emergency situation.   This is a huge need as we have 28 sites, over 2000 users. This is a high priority for us.

Can't hurt to keep mentioning it, maybe it's more complicated to make different ringers for the app than the physical desksets, either way let's keep this topic relevant and keep getting people to vote for it and hopefully it'll happen.

It is not a big deal at all for any company that cares about customers (and giving paid services). But having a look at your 2016 blog....i am sure that this company has got more than the expectation and simply don't care about customers.

09-18-2017 USA based account 2087 Users 3800 DIDs   28 different gepgraphical locations:   USE CASE:::   We need a differentiated ring tone for calls placed to the Emergency Ring Group in the front office (simultaneously rings all users in the Administration Offices) at each location.   We have had 2 incidents in the last several months - where the Emergency extension was called for Administration notification of life-threatening health issue in outer area of facility and no one picked up the call because they were not looking at their phone, and assumed someone else would answer it.    Please provide us with an update on where we are at with the development on this feature.    Our RingCentral engineering team has notified us that it is in the works, but we have not had a status update in months.   I am being pressed by our top management to get this issue prioritized at RingCentral.

I keep getting updated on this topic and have been for almost two years, since I first commented on it almost two years ago, hoping for a custom ring tone for incoming RingCentral app calls on my iPhone so I could distinguish between RingCentral app calls and regular calls hitting my iPhone mobile number. Nothing has ever happened after two years. I think it safe to safe now - Ring Central employees following this chain - that RingCentral is never going to add this feature - Right?

Thanks! I actually had not tried to tweak this lately as I had been getting the comments that it was still not changed, so I had assumed there was no alteration in the feature. When I had first commented on this two years ago, the RIngCentral app was tied to whatever ringtone you picked for your regular iPhone mainline, so there was no way for it to ring a different tone or to change it. It would still be better to be able to actually pick a custom one, but for my purposes, this would work. All I care about is it being different than my main line.

I agree with you and it was always that way (and still is) on Android. I switched to the iPhone on recommendation of several of my friends and colleagues. I can truthfully say I like it better, with the exception of two apps that have more functionality with the Android OS than with iOS. But they are minor apps to me so overall my experience has been very good.

Let me know how if what I described above works for you.

I would like RC to add some ring tones to the softphone that sound like a Polycom digital ring.  The current softphone ring is annoying.

If you could add the option of ring tones selection to the iPhone app this would help us out greatly!!

We have several field employees that refuse to use the cellphone app for a variety of reasons, but one is they can not hear the default ringtone. One employee uses the default Alarm tone for his phone default ring tone. If you could add the option of ring tones selection to the iPhone app this would help us out greatly. Most forward the call to there cell phone and then complain that they have to go through the process of pressing one to accept.

yeah having to accept the call by dialing is a speedbump, and not being able to change ringer as well, hopefully its addressed sooner rather than later.

For the, "press 1 to accept" thing... Maybe if there was an option to just say, "Accept" or some other key word. When I'm taking RC calls on my mobile phone I'm usually driving or on out in the field. Having to pull the phone, flip to the dial screen, then press 1... It's not particularly legal while driving.

It gets tricky when using a non-RingCentral device. I'd much rather have to press 1 than a call go to my personal voicemail.

If it was possible to customize the spoken keyword/keyphrase, I could set it for how I usually answer business calls.

My ios App rings with the Marimba tone when a RingCentral call comes in.  My iPhone ringtone is not Marimba.  I would like to have different ring tones for my cellular calls vs. my RingCentral calls, but I would like to be able to select the ring tone I desire for my RingCentral calls and not be forced into Marimba.  Thanks.

I use the app on my cell phone as well as on the normal office phone. I would LOVE to be able to set a different ring tone for ring central so that as soon as it starts ringing I know its a work call and not a personal call. Also if I am on my cell phone on a personal call, it will not let me know that there is another call coming through

best way to get separate calls is to change your personal ringer on your cell itself to be different than the tone that RC app uses when ringing your phone. this should work for either android or iphone.

Standard customization, just like one would have on any smart phone.  Custom ringtone for inbound calls/messages to differentiate from the myriads of other notifications I get on my phone.

Plus the same thing for Glip would be fantastic.
