Slack has integrated Screenhero.  Glip needs the same functionality so that we can share screens with our colleagues.

You can do this by starting a video chat and then share your desktop. You can stop the video part if you only want to share a desktop or application screen. Have you tried that?

Brandon - I spoke too soon.  I thought I had tried what you had suggested before and wasn't thrilled, but we just tried it again and it works well.  I think that will get us what we need.  Thanks again for the reply.

actually there should not be a need to start video meeting and then share screen . The chat window must have a share screen icon , and by clicking share screen the desktop screen should be shared at one click. Creating a video meet is lenghty and time consuming process in Glip...

Absolutely.  SIMPLE screen sharing should have been a priority.  This is just a mess, tons of lost screen space, full screen defaults with exit from full screen hidden.  Skype is WAY BETTER.

Hi Todd, we are working on fully integrating our RingCentral Meetings application into Glip. It's integrated on the Mobile app right now, the desktop app will soon follow.

I would hope that once the technology from RC Meetings is included that the ability to just launch a quick screenshare from within a conversation would be doable.

Last post from 8 months ago. Integration of meetings into desktop Glip is here but there is still no single button option for screensharing (like in Slack or MS Teams or even Zoom Phone). It seems like an extra step to start a meeting (making sure not to share video or start the audio) just to share your screen - especially if you are already in a RC phone call.

Yes, but I was hoping for better integration like we have with Slack.  Thanks for the reply.

Susan,  Feel free to leave more details so our Product Team can get a full understanding of the functionality you are looking for, a use case scenario including the features and benefits to your company will also help.

We would like screen sharing as well as the ability to ask for screen control.

It works but feels like launching another tool from GLIP (Ring Central Meeting) vs just instant screensharing within GLIP.  A much tighter integration would be helpful. Voting for this idea.

Having all of this integrated into one app (i.e.: Glip) would be huge. Toggling back and forth between apps when working with the same end-user isn't fluid right now. Also voted...I think having a Screenshare button next to the video chat button in Glip would be a great step.

Simple screen share functionality from within Glip without having to download software is a must have. Thanks in advance!

At the right side of the Conversation's header bar, next to the "Start video call ..." and "Start voice/conference call ..." buttons, we need a "Share screen with ..." button that shares our screen with the current conversation's participant(s).

The "video call workaround" is better than nothing but not as seamless as the experience should be. It's also problematic since other RC users then see "John Doe started a video call" so that's what they're expecting - not a simple screen share.

As others have pointed out:
- This is basic OOB functionality in competing platforms such as Skype
- The RC meeting that enables the video call is way too much overhead for screen sharing: you need to kill audio and video as well as deal with your meeting defaults (when am I full screen? dual screen? etc.). The meeting software is complicated; screen sharing shouldn't be.
