I have a customer for has requested a msi file for RingCentral for Windows that installs at the admin level so that it will install for all users on a PC.

"We are currently using Ivanti to deploy “Ring Central for windows” to all machines in the company. Unfortunately, the latest installer provided by Ring Central only install under a single profile as opposed to all users. What we are requesting is an Enterprise installer similar to version (Ring Central For windows-8.4.5.msi) that installs for all users. I really appreciate your help on expediting this request to the developers."

If this is something that you would like to see with our product please vote and comment below.  Thank you.

2018-02-14  We have thousands of users and need this option built in to the Enterprise MSI files  (version 9.4.3) we deploy using MS's SCCM deployment tools.

Hi,

If you install the MSI with the switch ALLUSERS=1, then it will install for all users of the machine it is being pushed to. That's the way we do it with ManageEngine, I assume that SCCM tools would be the same.

The only caveat to this, is that you need to make sure you beat the users to upgrading the client when a new version is released!

Cheers,

Bill

How is this not a feature? We are a new customer and the fact that these are per-user installs is already a huge turn-off.  We use VDI and need this baked in to our golden images for all users, having users install software on login is an unacceptable process.

I have an update on this issue, try this to install for all users:

- Installation for All Users (Admin Rights required)

- Install to custom folder E:\SoftPhone

- Create installation log file E:\somelogfile.txt

misexec /i SoftphoneSetip.msi ALLUSERS=1 INSTALLFOLDER=E:\SoftPhone /l*v E:\somelogfile.txt

This worked for me, specifically:

msiexec /I RingCentralPhone-10.2.1.msi ALLUSERS=1 INSTALLFOLDER="%ProgramFiles%\RingCentral"

We are actually considering dropping ring central for this exact issue. I cant have an app like this when I have hundreds of users. Please RC make a deployable install package. For the love of god please!

Hi Richard,

If you deploy the MSI with the parameter ALLUSERS=1 then it will install at the machine level not user, obviously this needs to be run as the administrator of the machine for it to work.

Cheers,

Bill
