US Office
Case # 05212982

Description of problem:

I need to be able after hours or when our office is closed to play a greeting and allowing them to press a number and # to go to a different extension but not allow voicemail to be left

For example the greeting would say something like : you reached us after hours , press 3# if this is an emergency and you need to reach the doctor, goodbye.

This is not the actual greeting but an example.

When using message greetings it allows them to leave a voicemail which I do not want

When using an announcement only greeting the press 3# does not work. I need an announcement greeting that also responds to key entry so they can active extension 3 to call Dr. cell phone or press 12 to hear office hours , but not allow them to leave voicemail since we are a DR office , voice mails after hours are a significant risk.

This can absolutely be done in a number of ways. Are you using multi level IVR or single? There are quite a few ways to do this, I'll try to respond again when back at my computer tomorrow

I have a 24/7 answering service and answer for over 100 Doctors, if for instance it is a skilled nursing facility as opposed to a hospital we have and extension that goes right to the on call Dr's phone. The only thing you have to do is change the on call phone number every night to the correct person, this helps a lot.
