Alert caller the system is ringing another device

New to RC and VoIP in general.

Users like the call handling feature to go from Desk to Cell to Home, etc.

The problem is with all these steps and not answering is this could ring for 5 minutes before going to VM.  Our end users DO NOT want to setup simultaneous (I know, they just don't).

We want to know if there is a way to have a notification between each switch to the next device in line so the caller knows what is happening..."Please wait while continue trying to reach your party".

We would also like to know if there is some way the caller can 'Opt-Out' and just leave a message instead of waiting..."If you would like to stop waiting press # to leave a message now".

Thanks for any input or feedback,
Mike

obviously one way would be if the end user doesn't want the cell app to ring would be to turn off that forwarding and just have it ring the deskphone then if no answer it would leave a message there. the end user would then get the email attachment with the message and return the call if they so chose. There's another way but you may encounter "mobile user" charges, so it may not be the best option but here it is. in the users call handling section you can insert their personal cell phone number, the call would then go from RC system to calling their personal cell and then the end user could answer let it go as well.
Hang tight and see if anyone else can suggest something else that may work better for you and your end users.

Curious, is this for all of your User's extensions? Or is this for a Call Queue?

There is no option for "interrupting audio" for a User extension like there is for a Call Queue. Is there a reason why they don't want to use the Simultaneous setting?

This would be for a large majority of our users, not a Call Queue.

Not "interrupting audio" but allowing caller to break the forwarding rule that goes to the next device.

With simultaneous on...If I pick up the call on my desk phone the cell phone still shows a missed call.  The other one I thought was funny is "it's going to drain my battery ringing all day when I don't need it to".  So just some general push back on the simultaneous.

I think a valid point on the need for more control with the potential endless ringing you can put your caller into on sequential.  The end user does not realize, thinking they are providing clients a service to get in touch with them but putting them through hell in the process... ring #20, #21 -Customer "I just want to leave a dang voicemail at this point...", click

Thanks for the clarification. Unfortunately, we don't have an option for this type of customization.

The battery comment is funny :P They can simply log into the app only when they want to use it. Then it won't drain their battery ;) or even put the Mobile app on DND - this won't affect the other devices on the account but it allows them to stay signed in but not take calls on that end point.

I would play around with the variation in rings for the sequential part, maybe keep the rings on each device to a minimum?
