Allow call forwarding to the mobile application. Who uses the desktop app as their main interface anyway???

If you activate the Desktop App/Mobile App selection in Call Handling, your calls WILL go to the mobile app. If you don't open/use the Desktop app, you won't be bothered by a call going there.

As to your second question, I know MANY businesses that use the desktop app versus a desktop phone. 50% of my clients use the desktop app. It is your prerogative to use it, or not use it, according to your own convenience.

Having said the above, I still believe, as do many in these forums, that RingCentral should make each of these applications self-standing regarding the option to use one versus the other, as well as having the choice if which device rings first; the desktop phone, the mobile app or the desktop app.

2018-09-28 We have a large number of users that use the Desktop app as their main phone. It is more common than you would imagine. What Jan said is true.. I would like to add, it would help us, if the Status settings would synchronize better. Sometimes a user sets DND on the Mobile App while out on vacation, and no calls can get to the deskphone back at the office where a temp is covering their position. Making each app stand independently might ease this issue.

You can select the ring order in USERS > Call Handling. You can set sequentially, or simultaneously when you have a mobile listed on the extension. You just drag the whole line higher in the order. You can also set the desktop app to not ring at all "0 rings for 0 seconds"
