Allow unassigned spots - Feature Request

When attempting to add a presence line that is not the next sequential blank line (ex. line 6, after skipping line 5), the system notifies with the following:

"Un-assigned spots warning: You have left some un-assigned spots in your list of monitored users. Would you like to remove the empty spots to collapse your list or leave the spots empty?Leave Empty        Collapse the List"

If I choose Leave Empty, it does so; however, when the phone updates with the settings, the unassigned spots are not there. It collapses the lines so that the extension remain sequential (ex. line 6 becomes line 5 that was previously unassigned).

I was informed by RingCentral Support that the Polycom phones have been overridden to do this by design.

I have users that need specific extensions placed on specific lines in order to more easily differentiate them from the other lines.

Can this be implemented?

I ran into the same problem with the polycom phones, with other hosted carriers too.  My workaround (if helpful) is to create 'dummy' extensions (no charge variety) and assign them to the blank keys.

Hello Mike,

At this time only Cisco phones will follow these rules. For some reason the Polycom phones do not.
