Desktop App: Answer Call Hotkey

Your previous Softphone application had many extremely useful hotkey functions. The most useful hotkey that doesn't exist in your current application is the "Answer a Call" hotkey. Like many people using your program, I am using a headset. I can program the hotkeys on my headset to emulate any function key F1-F12, and it would be such a dream come true to be able to simply push one of these buttons and answer a call. In days past I felt like I was living in the future, for this was an extremely easy and accomplishable task.

However, with your current application, hotkey functionality has been drastically reduced. No longer can we type a phone number then press the hotkey to dial a fax. And no longer can I answer calls in any sort of easy or streamlined fashion. No, the only way to answer a call is to use my mouse to click a button, but that button has been taken out of your application and moved to a pop under window???

You have been updating your current software so that the the Application comes for Foreground
"When Calls Come In"/ However, that function doesn't work, and for some insane reason you have just introduced within the last few versions a new notification window that has removed the ability to answer a call from within the Ringcentral app itself. This notification window does not "
"Come to Foreground" and doesn't need to exist for any reason at all!!!

This is incredibly maddening as I use a multi monitor setup and keep a section of screen real estate for Ringcentral just above my start bar on my Default, primary monitor. It used to be easy for me to click the green button on my app when a call come in. I could easily talk to a customer in less than half a second. However, now that you have this second window, I can't just click the answer call button. No- there's actually no way to answer a call in the application window, which I don't understand.

Nope- now; when a call comes in, the normally-functional Ringcentral application window turns into a useless brick, and a magical new Notificaition Window with buttons about answering calls or hanging up pops up. But it doesn't pop up on top of my screen, or even on the same monitor as my Ringcentral app. Nope- it shoots over behind or mixed up in 10 or 20 active windows in other applications I'm working on like Word/Excel/Outlook/Chrome/text editors. Due to the large amount of active applications I'm working on, it's quite cumbersome to try and alt+tab while this call is incoming, and the button for the Notification Window I need to find flashing on my taskbar is sometimes extremely skinny and hard to find.

This "Notification Window" new feature didn't improve anything and has made using your application extremely frustrating for me. Could you please add a hotkey to answer calls easily? Thanks.

I agree as I am having this same issue. perhaps it is a multi-monitor issue but not having some way to disable the secondary popup window AND/OR being able to answer the call from the main app seems short sighted.

Especially important is that I believe most users end up disabling the popup on top of windows because if your typing and hit enter when a call comes in you answer the call ready or not...

One of the things I have found is if you do click on the green phone image in the main interface it will usually pop up the answer dialog. This dialog is now in the foreground and you should be able to just hit enter or click the handset icon to answer the call.

We are also in a multi-screen set up for all users. We have huge issues with the popup being disruptive by making the phone app the active application on the desktop, which removes the user from whatever application they were using. I agree an answer button on the application itself makes far more sense than a pop up. The only reason we use the popup is that it appears to be the only way to answer the call from the keyboard by hitting enter when the bring to foreground is set. If bring to foreground is not set, you have to click your mouse on the pop up box, if your pop up box is not lost behind another application. Our users are commissioned and competing for calls and quick answering is a must. Shortcut/hotkey for answering inbound is sorely needed and a non-disruptive manner to present the calls.

I'm with these guys, this added "functionality" really makes it VERY DIFFICULT to answer calls, as we have to hunt for the answer call pop up window which is always behind a whole bunch of other windows I have open. I too reserve room on my desktop for the soft phone, and it only makes sense to keep the answer call on the soft phone's window. Please change it back.

I would like to add to this because it is a good idea... we should be able to tailor our hotkeys, especially for answer/hang up.  In a high volume call center that I'm in, efficient navigation is key, and with the only two options being Ctrl-Enter or Enter for pick up or hang up, it is not efficient.

I would suggest Ctrl+Z for answer and Alt+X for exit... it is on the left hand side of the keyboard, unused in many applications, and with these keys we avoid having to move our hands around the keyboard or use the mouse every time we have to answer a call or hang up a call.

I agree and concur that the pop-up dialog on incoming calls is a bit "messy" and confusing. It can be difficult for some of our support and call center staff to locate when using multiple monitors and does result in missed calls.  It would be nice to bring focus to the main RingCentral app and then press Enter or Click the icon to answer calls.

It seems like nothing has changed. I have the same issue as of today. I have tried to figure out if there is some way to change it, but I haven't found one. I just want to be able to answer my phone by pressing one key. Please fix this Ring Central. Thanks!

Same issues here. We really need a hotkey to answer incoming calls.
