Auto Dial numbers programmed to buttons on sidecar - concerns

I just cut over to Ring Central (from an Avaya IP Office). I have (2) Polycom VVX411 phones with a Sidecar on each. Coming from an IP/PBX, I've discovered that there are some limitations that concern me:

  • I want to program any blank button for 1-touch auto dial (outside telephone numbers). I have been told I can only do this using the telephone keypad. This is 1990's technology, as I have to manually enter the names and numbers in like we used to do on cell phones. Does anyone know of a work-around, using software or a template / spreadsheet?

  • I was just told that if Ring Central pushes a firmware upgrade to my phones, all of my button programmed auto dial numbers will be erased as the phone will factory reset to the configuration on their server. And since RC's server doesn't see or store any of my auto dial buttons, they will be gone and I'll have to re-input them manually again. SERIOUSLY?

  • I've tried logging into the phone using the IP address. I can make some changes this route, but it doesn't offer the ability to program the buttons. There is an Export Configuration option there (under Utilities -> Import / Export Configuration), but it doesn't appear to export the auto dial buttons that I've programmed.

  • Once you program a button for auto dial, if I want to add another auto dial button in the midst of my programmed buttons (think grouping auto dial buttons by company, then employees associated with the company), I would have to delete all auto dials up to where I need a new name, then re-enter the buttons I deleted.
This seems crazy - that you can't do simple modifications and re-arrange buttons the way you want them. Has ANYONE encountered this? Does anyone have a work around or a solution?

What you are looking for is how to configure Presence, which is essentially their version of auto-dial. It's programmable through your account. Here's an overview:

Also, I have not experienced any issues with the phones resetting to factory default, and we also use the VVX411's. You can also rearrange your contacts as you see fit, and also preview them before you apply the changes.
