Automatically move cursor to the current screen

I veiw this as a bug, but support says its a feature issue so I'm putting the issue here. Here are the steps I take: Send a text in the ring central for windows softphone. I then move on with my work elsewhere. I now need to make a call. I click the telephone button (Dial pad/ring out) and begin to type the name of my client. Ring central instead is typing the name as a new text instead of automatically typing the name in the contact/phone number field.

Please adjust the software to automatically place the cursor in the first field of the new screen when the new screen is activated. By doing this users have less key/mouse activity to place a call and I'll stop accidentally sending texts of peoples names to the last person I sent a text to.

Hey Max,

I guess I'm a little confused, are you not coming back to the softphone to make the call? Is there a way you could post a screen shot as an example?

Saadet, When I say "I then move on with my work elsewhere" I'm referring to my actual job... I get busy and the softphone is left with the most recent text open on my desktop. Later, say 20 minutes, I need to make a call. I go to the softphone, click the telephone button on the top menu and begin to type the name to pull it from my contact list. So in this case I moved directly from the open text window to the "Dial Pad/Ring Out" window (I use ring out, but I tested it in both and it acts the same). As I'm typing nothing shows in the "To" field (I don't pay attention to that as I type fast and am thinking the system acts like any other software (ie cursor is in first field of active window). If I press enter while in the call window it will actually send a text with the name I typed to the contact I had messaged prior to making the call.

I cannot really screenshot it as nothing shows up. You kind of have to walk through the steps to see what takes place. Hope that clarifies. Max

Hey Max,

I see what you're talking about. I was able to replicate it. We'll make sure that our Product Team is aware. Thank you!

I've noticed that in this and other programs/apps.  It is irritating when you open an app to use it for it's intended purpose, but you have to have to make one more mouse movement and click.
