Hello, what is the best way to block incoming calls from an specific phone number, company wide, not extension by extension?

Black the number while signed in as the Super Administrator.

Hmm, I did that but then we still kept getting calls. I checked with support and they said I had to manually add the blocked number under each user. The spam calls were coming to our mainline number. Support was able to mass block the numbers for me which was nice.

Unless something has changed, I have been able to block numbers and area codes on numerous accounts, when signed in as the original Super Admin, for several years.  Saadet? has something changed that we don't know about - but only Customer Support does?

Not that I'm aware of! What might have happened is Megan's extension isn't the System Mailbox extension - but Support was able to login and block the numbers because they have the option to choose who they log in as

Is this something that I can write as a program run by our main listed number (MLN) or any of our call center direct inward dial (DID) lines?


We are committed to signing with RingCentral. So I have been asked to insure that all of the functionality we require as a corporation is available in some manor. First on my list is does RingCentral have a "number type" that runs an administrator developed program. The programs I write contain the following functions.

  *  tests for time of day and day of the week and sub-routes based on this information
  *  test for the calling number and sub-routes based on this information
  *  comment lines
  *  tests for call center agent availability
  *  pre-recorded announcements used as notices or menus with routing specifications for each selection

Can I write such programs in RingCentral?

Hey Bill, I'm not aware of anything like this. But that doesn't mean it doesn't exist ;) I would check with your Account Manager, they can ask our Engineers what's possible.
