Business number Texting

In this modern and fast paced world, many people would prefer to text than wait on hold, and many businesses would handle the volume of requests better from a texting ( at your own pace) than many many phone calls... Ring central offers texting as an option (hooray) BUT a big issue is you can ONLY text the direct dial numbers.... if someone texts the business number it is routed to an email... this destroys all your convenience. Wouldn't it be nice if (like voicemail) you can choose a pathway for a text to go. Foe example- if someone texts the main number- it will always go to Charlie at ext 101. And he can then answer them all as text... eh, genius right? 
Ring Central, can we make this happen?!? please

I agree. I am not sure why this is not a feature. We should also be able to choose which number the text message is received from in the app as we are able to with phone calls.

Thanks for the response Rob. Maybe you can help me as I am struggling to understand. How do I get all of my employees to be able to text and respond through the same 1-800 phone number? Currently when my colleague sends a text it comes from her direct line and when I send one it comes from my direct line. We want to be texting on the same number and be able to see each others conversations, so that if I am not available she can follow up for me.
