Good Morning Everyone!
I am looking for a way to call a contact through the desktop app but have it automatically start the call or flip the call to my desk phone. Our desktops in the office do not have mic's capable of placing phone calls, however the interface on the desktop app if much easier to use and more convenient to place calls from.

It's frustrating to click through several app options/buttons in order to "flip" a call to the desk phone. Maybe there is a was by default to eliminate the app from calling, but still use it for info and notifications. If not, perhaps an easy flip option where the process is not so clunky.

Thanks!

ZachAttack,

In the settings, click on Calling then go down to Calling Mode in the right cloumn. Select RingOut then select the Deskphone you wish to connect to.

Your deskphone will ring and prompt you to connect. When you do it will connect you to the person you are trying to contact.

Thanks Jan! That seems to be a bit better solution and worked for me.

This is less of an issue, but is there any way to achieve the same thing by pressing "answer" on the screen notification when someone calls in?

Thanks again!

Nope...sorry. However, if you are sitting at your desk and have your computer logged into the RingCentral Windows Desktop app using the same direct number as your deskphone then your deskphone should ring soon after your mobile and/or desktop app. This of course will depend on the number of seconds you have configured in the Call Handling & Forwarding / First Ring section of the portal.

No problem, at 0 seconds there is no lag between devices and picking up the handset is actually easier. Just wondering for other users in our office who might have a different workflow/preference.  Thanks!!!
