Sorry for the inconvenience. There are a variety of reasons that we require the user to call in. One of the most important, is that we want to make sure that you don't need to port any numbers from your account before it's closed. If it's closed prior to porting numbers it causes much complication.

I don't know of any major service providers that allow you to cancel services online, I could be wrong but I setup and canceled business class service for reason for this is security. It's actually good customer service really, or inline with industry standards right now.
