Mobile App: Call integration for Android

I wish that ring central would have the same call integration functions for android as they do Iphone.  The integrated in phone call features to work seamlessly with the app give much more functionality on the road.

Hi Eric,  Our goal is to keep the two apps as similar as possible.  Unfortunately there are differences in the to OSs that often make certain features more complicated on one OS or the other.  If there is any specific function that you want to see please provide details so our Product Team can consider the idea.

Hi Mike;

This really makes no sense. Why would you push such an important feature on one device and not the other? Also that there has been NO communication except to keep requesting this. What is the real status on this?

Mike -- the issue is, that when you are on a call for ringcentral and get a call on the main cell phone line it interrupts or the person you are on the phone with can hear ringing.  When you are on a cell phone call you can not hang up and answer the ringcentral call -- you can just see it.  On the iphone version -- that call integration they rolled out -- makes it seamless through the general OS phone function.  (Then in the phone log history -- again of the general OS phone -- you can see the call history with a distinction of ringcentral versus regular calls)

We are having same issue. 90% of our entire company uses android. This would be a HUGE help to not have calls interior the ringcentral app.

In addition, The status notifications and the ability to edit to state where you are is missing on the Android. This should be the same on iPhone as Android. We are also 97% Android. only a couple of iPhone users.

Hi,

Android OS does not directly provide an API to do this similar as iOS CallKit.
We are following new API updates for each new Android version and see is there a direct way to support it.

Including the issues above, the Android app doesn't currently show as a calling app on my phone. on my S7 I could clear the calling default settings and select which app I wanted to dial out with. A  work around but not that difficult when I don't want to have to copy paste from a text phone number..  I like being able to select which dialer I want to use.  I really can't comfortably use the app consistently on the road and my customers are now getting my cell number which defeats the purpose of having it in the first place.  There are a lot of numbers that aren't in your contact list that need to be called..   HUGE problem.....

Is this feature still not available? This is quite interesting as one of our customers is asking why this feature is only available on IOS where some of the users uses Android phones. This is quite impacting on their business as The calls from VoIP are being disconnected as soon as a native call comes in. Hoping this would be noticed by our Dev team.

Our business employees are 90% Android users working mobile from home, office or on the road as we have a flexible working culture. We have set up everything to allow them to work seamlessly from any location and now it appears the Ring Central phone app is not designed to handle incoming personal 'native' calls to the same device. Instead a personal call is cancelling out the business call on the device. This is unacceptable and highly unprofessional. Surely we are not the only business with Android users experiencing this call cut out issue? If there is no fix to this I will be forced to terminate my contract with Ring Central. I do hope the developers are treating this with high priority. It is alarming to see that this issue was reported 2 years ago and not much development since then?!

I have turned of the voip on the android and forward to cell..  not sure if improvements have been made in the past couple of years....   the voip had a delay that was difficult in communications as well as the interrupting a native call.  I dial out from contacts in either environment when in the android contacts i select the ring central dialer.  I just dont set a default dialer,  it's an extra step but i don't mind, I'm in control..  Also it allows me to use office number when dialing from webpages etc.
