This conversation has been merged. Please reference the main conversation: Show Original Callers Number in Caller ID when Transferring calls

Can someone provide instructions and/or direct me to part of forum if this has been posted before on how to setup call flow so that any calls that get transferred show up as the inbound callers ID or number and NOT the users extension that is forwarding the call?

Example: Receptionist typically answers all inbound calls to our main number however when she transfers calls to appropriate internal users her extension shows up as inbound call and not the actually caller ID which makes it confusing on who it really calling the phone.

Kyle - to get the Caller ID to transfer, you will want to transfer as a Blind Transfer - not a warm transfer.

Try that and let me know.

That is correct.  We have the same problem in our office and I wish the default behavior would be to show original caller ID.  I definitely have a habit of answering the phone differently when I see an internal extension vs. a 10 digit caller ID.

Blind transfer instructions are here: http://success.ringcentral.com/articles/RC_Knowledge_Article/901 There may be other ways depending on your phone model too.

Blind transfer is not a solution! Caller ID should be transferred with the call, regardless of the type of transfer! This is a feature that has existed for at least a decade in traditional PBX solutions!

i think theres another thread asking for the same thing. many agree, the callers ID should be passed without having to blind transfer, after putting the caller on hold then picking it back up and then blind transferring the caller.

Voted for this on another article thread but voting here as well. We are new to RC and we have the same issue. Blind transfer is not the solution!

We need to be able to see the original caller's number when completing a warm transfer. Our old PBX System was able to do this. This is an essential feature that has been part of any PBX system for decades. This needs to be a priority. This would have been a show stopper for us had we known it was an issue prior to signing agreement.

Please fix asap!

We also are new users to RC.  This is an expected feature.  CallerID of transferred calls should be an option.  Please add to the next release.
