Calls no longer go to voicemail after hours

Ever since the upgrades, calls no longer go straight to voicemail "after hours".

For example, a line is closed and if a person calls they still hear ringing rather than directly being forwarded to voicemail. 

 Also, if I reject a call, it continues to ring on their end rather than go straight to voicemail. 

I've tested this on multiple phone numbers and it doesn't work. I'm losing business on people just hanging up rather than leaving a voicemail directly.

It's hard to say exactly what's going on here because there are a lot of settings that can cause long ringing like this. First, I would would check which extension people are reaching when they call by finding out where the number is assigned, or by looking at the detailed call log for calls made to that number. Once you find the extension that is being reached when someone calls your numbers, ensure you set the correct hours of operation, time zone, and Call Handling & Forwarding settings. Here are some articles on how to use those settings, depending on what type of extension the calls are routing to.
