Can Ring Central please shorten the recorded screening message when a call comes in that says, "Hello, (business name), you have a caller, press 1 to accept this call. For more options press star". I timed it and this takes 8 seconds that the incoming caller is still waiting to connect and listening to ringing or hold music! This recorded message takes so unnecessarily long that the incoming caller has to wait through 4-5 rings before being connected to our business! Can Ring Central please shorten this message or speed the voice up – this screening step should take no more than 2-3 seconds. Take the "hello" off the recording and change it to something like this: "(Business name), press one to accept call". I have three different businesses with three different Ring Central numbers and need to know which business they are calling when it forwards to my cell phone but can't afford to loose customers while they are waiting through 5 rings due to Ring Central's lengthy screening message! Thank you for your consideration.
I just spent an hour on hold for customer service/technical support and after nearly a half hour of test calls and trying several methods of adding extra repeating numbers at the beginning or ending of the incoming number to signal it was for this business, nothing worked (removed the ability to identify where the number coming in from- city/state). He had to put the same screening message back on and told me there was no way to shorten it or speed it up or even take out the requirement to press 1 which takes additional time! My customers will still be waiting 5 rings before the incoming call can be answered on my cell phone.

Laura--I am feeling the pain, too. There should be an option to just let people answer the phone without listening to the "hello...you have a caller...would you like to sit around and listen to this message and press some buttons or would you just like to talk to them...maybe have a cup of tea...press one if you're a Virgo...or not..."

Margot,

For your situation there is a way to not have to listen to "Hello, you have a caller..." For the given extension, go to Call Handling & Forwarding, then to Incoming Call Information. In the bottom section of the dialog (titled Play announcement before connecting) make certain that you select either "for non-RIngCentral phones only" or "Never".

In my screen shot below, I show you the three choices you want to select in order not to hear any announcements, and just allow you to answer the phone and speak to the other party.

Note that you do NOT want to check the "Include mailbox name in announcement" if you do not want ANY announcement before answering and speaking to the party on the other line.
