Our executive team needs to hold meetings with managers who are issues Chromebooks. Is there any way the RingCentral Meetings app can be support or developed for Chrome OS?

All of our folks have Chromebook/Chromeboxes and the ability to add a caller [3-way calling] and to Park and retrieve doesn't exist on the Chrome extension but does on the PC app. I also find it strange our Android native phone features allows 3-way calling but the Ring Central on the same Android phone doesn't have it.  We are a Chrome OS company and would be nice to get full features for RC.
I am trying to find out if the ring central softphone is available on chromebook?? About 6 months ago I was told it wasn’t and had to return the laptop- I would like to get a new chrome book, but need to know if the rc softphone will work ASAP before I buy it, as I need it daily for work. Thanks

Hi. Depends what you mean by works on Chromebook. I use a Chromebox all day everyday. The RC Chrome extension works fine. Can click on phone #s, call out and text etc. Does NOT have all features of soft phone that you maybe used to on Win machine. For example, we have incoming calls trigger our CRM to pop-up. That does NOT work using extension. A brand new beta extension came out earlier this week. I installed. did not work properly and UNinstalled. The new extension is still very limited in functionality. In short, basic calling & texting in and outbound from Chrome OS, yes. More than that, forget it.

While we are on the subject...everyone should nudge RC to get this done. There has been talk for a long time about Chrome OS getting full functionality. It is time the industry leader get in front of this and make it happen. We have almost totally converted our machines to Chrome OS (you should too) we are keeping a few Win machines alive and the old soft phone is the main reason.

05-10-2017 We have over 2000 users, US based account. We're in process of rolling out several thousand Chromebook based Labs - so this is important to us as well.  Awaiting anxiously to get this functionality. Will the RingCentral Mobile app work on Chrome OS as well? Specifically for HeadsUpDisplay use.   This would solve a particular need for our "mobile-only" users who do not have a regularly assigned work location, they work at a different job site every day on weekdays.

06-07-2017  Yes we are anxiously awaiting this info too - our impending massive Chromebook rollout is nearly started.  It would help us if we knew to include the RC Meetings deployment in the initial chrome image  instead of having to go back and try a remote deployment

Sorry, I still can't give a specific date but it looks like RC Meetings for Chrome OS is still progressing.  Sorry I can't give a more specific update other than "a few more weeks".

Hi Cecile,  the app is now available in the Google Web store so you can join/start meetings from Chrome books. However, If you (or any other viewers on this thread, are Google Integration users, I'll have to update you later as I understand there are differences and I'm awaiting details.  This is very new so I don't have documentation on this yet so can't answer specific questions yet.

I used a Samsung Chromebook Pro.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Chromebooks (RINGCENTRAL MEETING EXTENSION).

Need to have RingCentral support Chromebooks. Our company needs to fire up RC meetings right away in order to support our clients and view their screens.

Chrome OS Integration Feature Request- Chromebook users on our company are affected with the issue Ringcentral has with Chrome Integration. RC meetings doesn't sync and doesn't work properly. Meetings that are scheduled are not synced with their outlook calendar. They have 2 accounts with Ringcentral and we 70+ lines. Account are under Open Practice Solutions LTD / Etactics Inc.
Can you provide us an ETA when this will be rolled out and when will Chrome OS integration will be stable?

This request is a bit complicated because Outlooks is a proprietary Microsoft product and it doesn't run on Chrome OS today. So at this time our Chrome OS app can't support any Outlook integration.

our current Meetings forChromebook does not have capability to schedule meetings.  The workaroundis by pairing with our RingCentral for Google to schedule meetings on theirGoogle Calendar (no outlook).  At the meeting time, a user can click onthe link in the Google Calendar to start or join.  Or simply launch theapp then enter the meeting ID.

01-26-2018  Hi Mike or Saadet - what is the current status of ANY type of Chromebook support?

USE CASE:::: We are rolling out thousands of these presently and we are trying to avoid having to keep each phone user using a Windows Laptop for RingCentral access and Chromebook for the rest of their job functions....

Thanks for any update you can provide.

Good morning.
I can say as a user that we had a chance to give the new RC Chrome extension a try last week, hoping it held the secret answer to our Chrome OS challenges. Nope. The extension seems (to the user) simply a nicer, newer look. It actually did not work fully and I UNinstalled it. Had zero new features that I could see. I am concerned: if this is the newest release from RC in the Chrome space then a replacement for the feature-rich Windows softphone will not be soon in coming. It is troubling that RC, the leader in the industry is A) not keeping up with the reality that Chrome OS is making major inroads in the business world and B) has no real info to share.
