code tag issues

I like the code tag and I use it often. But it needs a tune-up. Everything in between
and the next
I would expect to be unformatted and unmodified monospace.

For starters, you can't post
<script> . Saying "javascript is not allowed" on a feature that's there for people to display plaintext code is sort of self-defeating.

Secondly the following posts will come out looking really odd on the desktop app:
$"

"a@example.com"
("support-email" "b@example.com")
%2b (I get why, but could you not do this?)

Finally on mobile, the formatting is worse. It will insert emojis and links into the text for example. Overall the use of the code tag seems quite different between desktop and mobile.

Thanks

Agreed, code tagging is a weak spot.
