Does RingCentral have compatibility with Kuando Busylight or any other external presence indicator?

We have an open office plan and we are constantly interrupted with "are you on the phone?"  There are many products already on the market, but none of them appear to be compatible with RingCentral.

Any advice or tips on how you have handled this would be great!

These are two products that do what I am looking for, they just don't work with the RingCentral app.

I assume you are using headsets?  Otherwise it seems it would be obvious if someone was on the phone ;)  Maybe something like this that should work inline with about any headset?https://www.headsets.com/headset/Busy-Light/

Ah, yes.  Important details!

We are using Plantronics Savi 440 wireless headsets which use DECT technology (instead of bluetooth) http://www.plantronics.com/us/product/savi-400?skuId=sku6310031

I already purchased and returned the busy light you suggested. :) That busy light works for corded headsets that attach to a desk phone.

There is also a busylight made by Plantronics, but it doesn't work with the headset I have. (The same headset which is used by everyone else at my company, which is why switching headsets isn't an easy fix.) http://www.plantronics.com/us/product/online-indicator

I see.  The Savi 440 does seem to be excluded.  I guess I would try to ask Plantronics support if they know of anything on their end.  From what I know about RingCentral it will be difficult since they don't allow multiple devices to register to the same extension number like most voip products do.  I think it would be technically possible to develop something using their API, but I suppose you wouldn't want to spend the effort and money.

One more thought- What kind of desk phones are you using?  Maybe there is something that can work directly with the phones busy status.

That is the problem.  The users who need this are the users who don't use desk phones at all.   Our phone is our computer.

If we had headsets routed through a desk phone this wouldn't be a problem.

The Kuando Busy-Light now has a driver to work with RingCentral (as of 07/02/2018)
