RingCentral Meetings: is there a way to transfer the host if you are a participant?

We have recurring status update meetings that are set to enable join before host. The meeting link is in the calendar invite (host link isn't). Oftentimes the host doesn't end up calling in (or Host clicks the meeting link from another computer), so someone who joined as a participant needs to be able to mute other lines or lock the meeting. Is there a way, once in a meeting to say "I'm the Host" without having to hang up and dial back in?

Hello,

Unfortunately, in both instances with RingCentral Meetings and with our audio conference there is not a way to make someone else the host, if the host does not join. If you are using RingCentral Meetings other participants can still share their screen, but they will not have control over other participants. If the host joins the conference they can pass host permissions off to another user under manage participants. Also, with the audio conference there is not a command to request to be the host at this time.

Thank You,

Sophie

Does that setting stick for the next meeting? So if you transfer host on a recurring meeting, will it remember that on the next meeting if nothing has changed?

Hi Brett,

Are you referring to the RingCentral Meetings Application or the Audio Conference Calling feature?
