Obera LLC is a company based in the USA and we do most of our business with the U.S. Government. We have migrated our conferencing solution from Infinite Conferencing to RingCentral Meetings and no longer have a voice announcement option. This feature was used to identify who joined or left any meetings we hosted and would prompt the participant to say their name prior to joining.

When I join a conference it asks me to identify myself, however it is just actually joining me to the conference. So I say my name instead of hello, which is weird haha. It should say to the conference "participant (recording) has joined the conference" and then let me in

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Announcements for Conference Calls.

During a conference call, we want the ability to pre-record our name before entering a conference call, so that we are announced when we join the call to those already on the call. This is important for conducting meetings so that we know when a client or reporter joins the call, and who he/she is. Right now, there is just a beep when someone enters the call, then they have to speak up and announce themselves.

Exactly, that is what we were used to in our last conferencing app and it's really useful! I get that this is really geared towards areas with good internet connection where status can show but if you are in a less developed country sometimes calling in is all you have.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled There is no announcement for conference calls.

We would want to start using station phones in our Firm for conference calls via RC. However, when someone joins a conf call , there is no announcement or noise or music. It's just a silence and it is very difficult to understand who else on call already who joins it. If you take care of this issue for us, it will be highly appreciated on our side. Yulia

And I need to be able to enable this setting globally as an administrator. Not on a call by call basis at the user level.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled RC conferencing announce when leaving a meeting.

Add the feature to announce when someone enters and LEAVES a RingCentral conference meeting. The audio conference announces when you enter with a sound which is Great but when a participant leaves their name is not announced. Please add this feature ASAP. Our company uses conferencing every day and this feature is required. Thank you.

FYI - I also have another case request open for the same issue on RingCentral Meetings when you enter and leave a meeting to announce the name.

2018-02-08  I would like to add a caveat to this feature request --- if this is added, please make it a controllable checkbox type preference which the Host of the Conference can control -- turn off (disable) or turn on (enable)   so it is not ON all the time.  This would be very disruptive in our organization's use of conferencing on RingCentral.   We do not want to hear sound when folks leave for whatever reason.
