Convert large group of users from one Role to Another Role via template or command line query

04-19-2017 Is there a way to convert a large number of users from one Role (Standard International)  to another Role (Standard)  without having to query each one by one in the web admin portal?  The (Role) Template feature seems like this would be the place to find this feature, but short of paging through thousands of users in our account to change their setting - we cannot figure out how to query the system to setup the conversion.  By default, RingCentral imported all users with International calling permissions automatically as the Standard International Role instead of as Standard Role only.  So now we are doing the honey hunt.  Any programming tips for fixing this efficiently rather than one by one, would be greatly appreciated.   What I am seeking is an "if then, statement" process where if I set the template up as    "if any user =Standard International,   change all users matching that criteria to "Standard"

If it can't be done in the GUI I wonder if RC support would do an export/import for you or just make the change on their end?  I would do an import/export *very* carefully, but am pretty sure it can be done as I have worked with the files for some installations (not as large as yours though).

I have made this same request to our dedicated RC Support and they have not yet gotten back to me this morning.  I will post whatever the resolution is, here if I get it handled that way.

HI Cecile,

I'm gong to change this to a feature request.  Brandon is right. There's not a way to do this, but in a case like your's or anyone with lots of users, it would be nice to have some sort of filter that allows you quickly display and change roles for the desired users.

Was a solution ever found for this?
We have a similar situation where half of our users were set up as international and half as standard whereas they should all be standard. Not as many users as the original poster, but still a big job to manually change each role.......

Hey Julie, 

Idk if it will help but you could go into the Users Tab -> Roles -> Standard -> Assigned Users -> Assign Users -> then in the Search Bar type Standard International. All the people with that current Role should show up. Then you could checkmark the box at the top and that should select everyone. Then click Assign. Everyone should be the Standard Role now.
