Does anyone know if it is possible to create a new slash command (or if one already exists!) that will leverage the salesforce integration to pull in contact / account information? For example, i'd like to be able to type something like /getcontact <contact name> and it will return a contact record from SF, or type /getaccounts <contact name> and it will return all accounts associated with that contact. Things along those lines.
Happy to look at developing this as well if it doesnt exist. I have several clients crying out for this type of functionality across multiple applications / CRM's (not just salesforce, but hey we have to start somewhere!)

thanks in advance!

Hey Paul, this is a fantastic idea! I don't think we have this command available so I'll flip this to a feature request. In the meantime, you could visit our Developers Community and see if they have any tools/advice about creating a CRM of some sort, never know!

Hi Paul, we don't have a slash command for Salesforce just yet but you can use or build a bot to do something similar. Kore.ai has built a Glip bot that you can use to ask questions like the ones you posted. Find more information here:

https://www.ringcentral.com/apps/salesforce-bot-ringcentral-glip-kore-ai

Here's a list of items that the Kore Salesforce Bot for Glip can do:
  • Add note to opportunity
  • Change lead status
  • Change opportunity owner
  • Create case
  • Create contact
  • Create lead
  • Create opportunity
  • Get cases by close date
  • Get closed opportunities
  • Get top opportunities
  • Update contact
  • Update opportunity
  • View account
  • View appointment
  • View contact
  • View lead
  • View opportunity
  • View opportunity details report
  • Notify on case updates
If you want something more custom, you can also build your own Salesforce Glip bot using our REST APIs and chatbot adapters:
