Custom emojis do not seem to be supported on the mobile version of Glip.
I can view a custom emoji on the desktop version, but on mobile it will just show up as the text name of the emoji like :test:

Hey all,

I followed up with our Product Team. At this time there is no plan to add custom emoji support for the mobile app. This is due to the fact that it is reliant on the native operating system and how it handles emojis.

It will only be offered on the desktop/web versions of the app, since there are less restrictions.

I don't see how the OS would be preventing this. It would be a simple regex match on valid custom emojis text and replace with the image.
