1.  All account types
2. Any business
3. Ability to key press from a desk phone or have a button in the application to go directly to an ext voicemail withoutht the other persons phone ringing.
4. President wants to leave a VM to the CIO but sees that the CIO is on the phone already.  Call goes directly to VM withouth interrupting the CIO's current call.
5. Minimizing call waiting or interrupting current calls for end users

Hi Patrick this exists today.  You could do this in 2 ways

Setup a VM only extension for the CIO and transfer the call to that extension.  Their phone will not ring, and the voice mail will go to their box

Or when you transfer a call put *0 in-front of the extension and it will go directly to that Extensions VM

Both setups work

We are looking for a way to do this to any user not just a VIP and setting up an extra voice mail box for every user is a pretty cumbersome workaround.

i know there's a way to do this check here and see if it's helpful

https://success.ringcentral.com/articles/RC_Knowledge_Article/901

in there should be a feature code for transferring for polycom and cisco phones.

Wish the *0 worked everywhere, only works once you do transfer->blind. Doesn't work with ## if it did we could make softkeys or directories that go right to voicemail.

Also if the softphone could do call control of your deskphones calls then it could be done there in the UI.

Ideally on the deskphone you would have a transfer VM button then it accepts a normal extension number and it would work with the Polycom BLF keys so they could just pick the name rather than remembering extension numbers.

Very cumbersome now, was much easier on old phone system to transfer to VM.

It doesn't require a few more key strokes than a old school PBX, but it is doable hopefully enough people agree to add that one touch van transfer feature and ringcentral makes it happen.

Haven't used an old school pbx in 10 years, we came from 3CX self hosted and its could do deskphone call control from the app and we had a web based directory app for the Polycoms that showed everyones presence on the phone (including DND/busy) and when you clicked their name you got a choice to directly transfer call to vm among other things.

Ringcentral is a pretty big step back from that. We like the hosted aspect but it missing a bunch of call handling ability we had for years.
