The Cisco SPA525G is no longer ringing. Initially after setup and testing it was ringing but no longer. I have rebooted the phone several times and it still won't ring. I can make calls and can see when a vm is left but it won't ring. I need this resolve because what good is a phone if it doesn't ring?  As much as I paid for it I expect it to serve it's purpose.

2018-10-17 Rather than assuming something, it might be best to go check what your portal settings are in the Service Web portal.  The most common reason this appears on helpdesk tickets in our organization is User Error. It is possible it could be hardware error as well. Turning on syslogging in the phone's hardware web interface would assist you in diagnosing if that is the root cause. Set log level to "verbose" or "debug"

User reports everything going straight to voicemail
This is often a mistaken setting, chosen by t he user. Here is how to set these settings properly. The User Greeting is not the outgoing voicemail message, many folks see that label and think that is where to setup voicemail. It does not route the call to voicemail, it simply makes an announcement before the call is connected

Thanks for your reply, however, my complaint is the phone does not ring.   Yes, it goes straight to voicemail but the phone never rings. That's the problem. I followed the instructions you sent but it still does not ring even after a reboot.

The statement above is trying to tell you that you hear your voice mail greeting before the phone will ever ring.  Because that recording is set in the wrong.  I have fixed this many times for customers.  You could always look at the log and see if the call is going to the phone or it states voice mail.

This should be an easy fix
