When using the dial by name directory it asks for you to enter the 1st three letters of their first/last name. After you enter the 3 digits it takes about 6 seconds to connect you. Please speed this up to under 2 seconds.

You can speed it up by entering a # after your enter the name.  e.g., spelling Daniel with 326 then #.  However, RC doesn't allow us to record over the default greeting for spell by name.  So, whereas speeding up the delay may not be possible, it would be nice if RC would allow us as users to record our own spell by name directory greeting.  Just say'in.

I agree. I also tried to get them to allow us to record our own greeting so we could tell tell them to type #. If they simply included "press # when finished" in their greeting it would help.

I agree with your agree - agreed?  That should be easier for them to do.

Anyone know if they've made any progress on this, seems like it would be a simple and awesome update.

I would like them to improve it a bit further.
The software should be processing each entry as it comes in building a list of possible people and not waiting for the last entry to start the search.

Example:
In my situation there are last names with only H, no last names with G or I:
       Last names Hayes and Huang

When 4 (g,h,i) is pressed the software should start a search and pull out all entries with G, H or I.
When 2 is pressed (in selecting Hayes), there is only 1 possible solution.
The software can still wait for the 3rd entry but it is not needed.

As a person who has developed software for phone systems, I really do not know what the software is doing for such a long time (6 seconds) trying to figure out which name to select.  I know there is a bit of time for determining if the user is finished entering digits; but that should only be 2 seconds.

Just my 2 cents worth...
