Disable MMS in Canada mobile app

Because it is taking so long to implement MMS in Canada, can a patch be issued in the Canada mobile app so that it does not indicate that this is available?

Also, is there any way of allowing MMS text to be received as SMS?   We have lots of customers that are texting us with a pic attached (MMS), but they don't realize the difference between MMS and SMS.  So we don't receive anything and look stupid.   If we could at least receive the test portion of the MMS message as an SMS, then we would at least know there is something to followup on.

This is becoming very problematic.

Thanks.

Hi Michel,  MMS actually is available to RingCentral Canadian customers. Our most recent updated from your product team indicates that there are very few wireless providers in Canada that allow MMS traffic. So depending on who the MMS messages are being sent too/from, it may, or may not work.

Sorry we don't have any ETA on the other carriers, other than Telus seems to be the only major wireless carrier in Canada allowing this traffic.

Yes Mike, technically it is available in from RC - BUT the majority of carriers are not allowing it.  So the current status is that we cannot send or receive MMS messages - unless we contact the other party first and confirm that they are using Telus.

This definitely doesn't work for those of us trying to allow customers to send in orders or support requests via text messages - majority of people don't understand the difference between MMS and SMS and so we are getting more and more customers sending in pics to explain their problem or issue they want us to help with - but since we don't receive it at all, we end up looking stupid because it looks like we are ignoring their messages - when in fact we are not receiving them at all.

We need to resolve / improve this somehow.

I understand your frustration.  We'll leave this feature request open so that maybe some day we'll have an enable/disable feature.  Unfortunately we can't give any sort of ETA if, or when other companies update/change their interconnection agreements with other carriers.

I don't understand.  MMS travels fine between Bell and Telus here in Canada.  Isn't the impetus on Ring Central to broker this agreement with Bell?
