Do the "Display these salesforce.com objects" settings for RingCentral Softphone Layouts in Salesforce actually change anything?

Setup > Call Center > Softphone Layouts > {name} > Inbound > Softphone Layout Edit

do the settings under Display these salesforce.com objects actually apply to the RingCentral SoftPhone in Salesforce? Changing these settings does not seem to have an effect anywhere that I can find. 

The slim admin documentation doesn't say one way or the other, and Nor can I find any mention of these settings in the forums or other support areas. The only consistent reference I find to them is in API documentation out in the wilds of Google search land.

P.S. - RC AppExchange version 3.106, and if it matters, Windows desktop client 7.2.3

Hi Scott,

It does not.  Those are the objects that an incoming call searches against.  Screen pops display these objects when matched against the contact number.

For example, a Support department may use a Layout that only displays cases in a screen pop, whereas a Sales department may display Leads and/or Opportunities in a screen pop.
