Enable Global Call Log Without Read/Write Access With View Only Setting

The ability to to view the call logs for all users without the read/write option enabled.

When the view setting is enabled for a user, the call logs tab does not populate in the Admin Portal. Both the read/write setting and the view only setting must be enabled in order to view the call logs for all users, but this allows the user with access to delete recordings. Non-SuperAdmins should be able to view all call logs. Currently, the view only setting performs no function. 

There is an open case regarding this issue, and tech support suggested that this may actually be a feature request as opposed to a bug. However, I do not see the purpose of the view setting for call logs if this is not a bug.

Hi James,

We agree.  Our upcoming release includes several updates to call log permissions so it's easier to understand what each permission does and to provide more granular controls.  Existing roles/permissions settings will be preserved.   The new call log permissions will include:
  • Company Call Log - Delete Records (formerly 'full access') (includes User Call Log - Delete Records & View Only)
  • Company Call Log - Access Recordings (new) (includes User Call Log - Access Recordings & View Only)
  • Company Call Log - Download & Delivery (formerly 'delivery') (includes User Call Log - Download & Delivery & View Only)
  • Company Call Log - View Only (includes User Call Log - View Only)
  • Site Call Log - Full Access (formerly 'view only') (includes User Call Log - Delete, Access Recordings, Download & Delivery, View Only)
  • User Call Log - Delete Records (formerly 'full access') (includes User Call Log - View Only)
  • User Call Log - Access Recordings (new) (includes User Call Log - View Only)
  • User Call Log - Download & Delivery (formerly 'Delivery') (includes User Call Log - View Only)
  • User Call Log - View Only
