Enabling a 3rd or 4th line to take in calls on Desk Phone

Currently, the desk phones are only able to handle 2 lines coming in. We have the Polycom 311, which has 6 line available. We set up the presence but only used 1 line for it. So being able to add additional lines to the desk phone so that are receptionist can take in more calls would be beneficial to our company.

Hey Abe, you can configure this on the web interface for the phone: Settings > Advanced Settings > Admin Settings > Line Configuration.

Are phones are rentals from RingCentral. So if it is logging into the Advance Settings of the phone, don't you need the passcode to get into that? If so, someone from the support team said they would not give me to passcode due to them being rentals. If this is all true, is there another way to add the additional lines to the phone?

Hi Abe, even though they are rental phones, you can ask the Support Agent to share a screen with you, log into the phone, and have them make the changes necessary.

I've noticed a similar thing can be done on Cisco SPA phones (in my case a SPA_525G) by setting the Extension selector to '1' in the Phone tab for lines you want to enable and adding a label. But the phone re-provisions and clears the settings (while the Polycom hasn't so far). Why is that?
