Fax: Confirmation to attach the pages faxed

We really need the fax confirmations to come through with the pages that we faxed attached.  It is very hard to verify that certain documents were faxed if the confirmation just shows "sent" and the number of pages.  We need to be able to verify that we sent certain pages.

I agree. You need a permanent copy of what was faxed to be a useful business tool. Efax does it.

Any updates on Fax confirmation sheets?  How many more years will this take?  This is absolutely ridiculous that RC ignores their customers. We need fax confirmations to prove we sent faxes.

Yes! We need this for E&O purposes. We need the fax notifications to include the documents that were faxed on outgoing faxes.

I am having the same problem with my business fax line.
Ring Central Customer service is horrible and could not help with this issue.
I figured out the solution that works for my business.

All Fax Out from the office must be sent by email.
We have an email attachment confirming the fax was sent with the documents attached to the email.

We also have email attachments for all incoming fax's.

I hope this helps you as it helped our office.

I agree that all fax confirmations should come with an attachment showing what was sent. It is not reasonable to require us to log into the system to download the information every 30 days before it expires. I hope that they add this feature  soon.

I was told by a CSR two days ago that "our engineers are currently working on this issue" and that it was a major complaint from RC customers... Is there any estimate of when this crucial upgrade may be available? Lack of this feature is a HUGE NEGATIVE in our early RC experience.

Is there ANY update on receiving a copy of ALL faxed documents with the fax transmission results (confirmation) - includes the "status", date & time, fax number and exact image of all that was sent?  This is critical to be able to prove what was actually sent/transmitted.  I was floored that RingCentral did not have this and have started to look for other phone options (at least I was smart enough not to sign a contract).

They've been saying their engineers are working on this issue for years. Either they have the most incompetent engineers or they simply don't care. There are other online fax providers that offer this feature.

I would like to have the option to have the confirmation of a successful fax transmission emailed to the person sending the fax from the webpage, not just to the administrator. A previous provider had this option, and it is much more useful to have the person sending the fax know that it succeeded!  This was accomplished by a drop-down selection with the email address for each employee that could send faxes on the page creating the email.  This, possibly combined with a confirmation to the administrator would be possible options to have in company setup.

Would it be possible, on the emailed Fax Message Transmission Result, to include a graphic of the first page of the sent fax, would be very helpful. Also, could there be a link there that would take you to the online record of the faxed document? thankyou.

RC has said they've been working at getting this function for years. Don't hold your breath. There will never be a fax confirmation sheet with a copy of the first page sent. This feature has been requested for years.

I definitely know for a fact that this service used to exist because I was using it last year. Now for some reason ever since we changed our account tyou it doesn't work. I think if more people voice their opinions more and more about the importance of having the fax confirmation. Attachment sent to the emails as well they will be more inclined to fix this issue promptly. Don't bother calling... send and email the cooperate office in the US. RC''s call center in not in the US and if you call and asked to be transfered to the US office they say they don't have the ability to do that. I asked them fore the direct linemail and was told they don't have it.

This is really sad if this is the best place to request features. The requests for fax confirmation pages have been made over a year ago by a number of people and nothing has been done. This feature is needed for businesses. There is virtually no customer support.

Katie, Unless our Product Team has marked an idea request as Planned,  then there is no ETA, because it's not on the road map at all. We provide regular reports to our Product Team and they also review the Idea threads here on the Community so they do see your comments. We receive dozens of requests every week and unfortunately they do not have time to comment on every topic, but I can assure you that when a topic reaches a high number of likes/votes, they do review and at least consider the idea.

1) again (this feature used to exist in ringcentral... Because I have many faxes that are attached to an email sent by ringcentral to me of a fax I sent with the added header of the fax number sent to and from, date and time stamp and status: Sent (If the fax wasn't confidential I would attach it here (but I will take a screenshot of the email from ring central with an attachment showing. 

2) This is not a feature that anyone should need to request. This is common standard to be expected of any fax be it digital or analog. The benefits of using an efax to send faxes is that you can get a confirmation (along with an image of what was faxed (and to save paper, time and keep a verifiable audit trail archived) Having to download the fax confirmation is so tedious and time consuming. That the money saved on the cost of the service relative to others e fax services is lost in my time or the time of my staff. I am actually starting to track how much time is spent to account for the cost of time spent doing this task

3) You must solve for file corruption issue. When the fax fails and you can not do a resend attempt nor download the original attachment (because when you sending many faxes to the same number you can't tell which one is the one that failed... doesn't even have the name of the attached file....

Mike has RingCentral provided a reason for this? I know they have to prioritize a lot of "feature" requests, but I think this is a fairly standard feature for any hosted fax solution?

Jamie,  Sorry, but no.  I don't have a specific reason.  However I've discussed this with several engineers and there are a few issues. 

  1. First, I'm not so sure that his is a standard feature with other services. What users are asking for here is a verification of what was received on the other end, and have that attached to their confirmation.  If there are any other fax services out there that actually do this, please share the names and I'll be sure to forward to our product team. 
  2. Providing an attachment/verification of what was received at the other end is a lot more complex than having a verification of what was sent. There would have to be a method of transmitting back what was received, and hoping both the sent & received transmissions were perfect. Otherwise the received confirmation would not be reliable. 
  3. Sent faxes can be viewed through the Sofphone as well as the web portal, so the demand for this is a lot less than many other feature requests that we get.   
So, with this in mind, feature requests go through a pretty detailed ranking process. Considering that all requests take a certain amount of resources, our product team must implement the features that will benefit the most users.

Thanks for getting back to me with that detail. To answer and clarify what I'm asking for:

1. SRFax.com, which we used for years and was fantastic!

2. I'm not looking for the attachment to include what has been verified as received but rather the attachment to be what I sent. I can understand that you can't verify what was received.

3. Unfortunately the softphone isn't supported on Windows Terminal Server so we can't use that. I understand it's included in the web portal, but it's much more efficient to have the pdf of what was SENT included in the email confirmation so that we can attached that entire email (including the pdf of what was sent) into our CRM tool. This avoids having to log into the web portal, find the fax, save the pdf, then attach it. The PDF that is in the web portal is exactly what should be attached to the email confirmation. I really can't see that as being overly challenging.

Constant review of of all ideas? This feature has been requested for well over 2 years. It is available by other fax providers as noted by other users. What's taking so long to review and implement this much needed feature? I don't think RC cares.

Adding on to this thread. A reply yesterday from a CSR stated:
Rest assured that our developers are working on the concern with fax confirmation logs and can be available on the future releases depending on the request made on the community.
Given that this thread has been posted for two years, with dozens of votes, I don't get the impression that they have any intention on actually releasing this.

We have a small law firm in the US and need to have the transmission report emails also show the attachments with it! Right now it just shows the file name and success when it sends. But we need to be able to see the document there too! I see someone requested this feature 2 years ago, however, it doesn't seem to be high on the priority list! I can see the document on my RingCentral desktop app, why can't I get it attached on my transmission email?

I also require this, as do several others. If RC cannot figure out a way to do this soon, I will need to switch to another provider. Other users need to also apply pressure to RC so that they will make this a priority.
